Why it doesn’t upload
The images inside a PDF might be product shots before launch, scanned IDs or photos of people. They’re pulled out in your browser, so they’re never copied anywhere else.

What happens to your file
JPEG photos and scans are stored in a PDF as complete JPEG files, so they are copied out byte for byte — the exact quality that went in, with no re-encoding. Other image types (Flate, JPEG 2000, JBIG2, masks) are decoded by pdf.js and saved as PNG.

How do I save all images from a PDF?

Are the extracted images full quality?
Yes. JPEG photos are copied out exactly as they’re stored in the PDF — no re-compression. Other images are decoded and saved as lossless PNG.
Why is an image missing?
It may be a vector drawing rather than a picture, or smaller than the size you chose to skip. Set Keep everything, or use PDF to JPG to capture whole pages.
What’s the difference from PDF to JPG?
PDF to JPG takes a picture of each whole page. This saves the photos that were placed on the pages, on their own, at their original resolution.
