How to resize PDF pages to A4

  1. Add your PDFs

    Drop the PDF — mixed sizes are fine.

  2. Check the settings

    Pick A4, Letter or another size, or type your own. Pages keep their own orientation unless you choose one.

  3. Save the result

    Save. Each page’s content is scaled to fit the new size and centered — as vectors, so text stays sharp.

Why it doesn’t upload

Resizing is mostly done to print or submit a document properly — applications, contracts, theses. It’s done here in your browser, so the document doesn’t travel to be reformatted.

Worth knowing

  • Links and form fields aren’t carried over to the resized pages.
  • Keeping proportions leaves white bands where the shapes differ (Letter onto A4, for example).
  • Text and graphics are scaled, not re-flowed: a page shrunk a lot has smaller text.

What happens to your file

Each page is embedded as a form XObject — a reusable drawing — and placed on a new page of the size you chose, scaled to fit and centered, with the margin you set. Because the content is drawn, not rasterized, text stays sharp and selectable at any size.

How do I convert a Letter PDF to A4?

Choose A4 and press Resize pages. Each Letter page is scaled to fit A4 and centered, so it prints without anything cut off.

How do I make all pages in a PDF the same size?

Pick one size here. Every page — however big or small it was — comes out that size, with its content scaled to fit.

Does resizing a PDF make the file smaller?

No — it changes the size of the pages, not of the file, which won’t get meaningfully smaller. To get a PDF under an email or upload limit, use Compress PDF.

Why does my PDF print smaller, or cut off at the edges?

Usually because the page size doesn’t match the paper — a Letter PDF printed on A4, or the other way round — and the print dialog is set to shrink it or to print at actual size. Resizing the pages to your paper here fixes it in the file; why a PDF prints differently covers the other causes.

Will resizing make my PDF blurry?

No. Text and vector graphics are scaled as vectors and stay sharp. Photos inside keep their resolution.
