How to create a PDF from scratch

Add your document
Write in the editor, using the toolbar for headings, lists, links, tables and pictures — or import a Markdown, HTML or text file to start from.

Check the settings
Pick the typeface and text size, and the page size and margins if the defaults are not what you need.

Save the result
Save it as a PDF. Headings become bookmarks, links stay clickable, and the text can be selected and searched.
Why it doesn’t upload
A document you are writing is usually a first draft of something private — a letter, a CV, a proposal. Online PDF makers save it to their servers; this one lays out and writes the PDF in your browser, and keeps your draft only in this browser.

- It makes documents, not layouts: text flows from page to page, and there is no placing things at exact positions on a page.
- Pictures are embedded from your device. Pictures pasted from a web page by address are not fetched, because this page makes no network requests with your document.
- The draft is kept in this browser only. Clearing site data, or using a private window, loses it — save the PDF when you are done.
- To turn an existing Word document into a PDF, use Word to PDF, which keeps its own layout.

What happens to your file
What you write in the editor is cleaned with DOMPurify, laid out by your browser, and painted into the PDF as real text in embedded fonts, with working links and bookmarks from your headings. Page breaks you insert start a new page; the rest are placed so no line or image is cut.

How do I create a PDF for free?
Write your document in the editor here and press Save as PDF. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on length, and the PDF is made in your browser.
Will the text in the PDF be selectable?
Yes. It is a real PDF, not a picture of one: the text is selectable and searchable in embedded fonts, links click through, and every heading becomes a bookmark in the reader’s sidebar.
Can I add pictures and tables?
Yes — use the picture button to add one from your device, and the table button for a table you can type into. A page break button starts a new page wherever you need one.
Can I start from a Markdown or HTML file?
Yes. Import it at the top and its content fills the editor, with headings, lists, links and emphasis kept. Edit it there, then save the PDF.
Is my document saved if I close the tab?
Your draft is kept in this browser as you type and comes back when you return. It is never sent anywhere, so it is not on any other device.
