PDF to Excel Converter — Free Online
A free online PDF to Excel converter: the tables in your PDF become real spreadsheet rows and columns, with the numbers as numbers so they add up. A statement that runs over several pages comes out as one table. Nothing is uploaded.

Still going. Your own device is doing this, so a long scan or a big batch takes as long as it takes — and none of it is being uploaded.

Every request this page makes is listed as it happens. You’ll see our own code loading, and for some formats a codec engine, but never your file going out.

How to convert a PDF to Excel free, keeping the columns
-
Add your PDFs
Drop the PDF — a statement, an invoice, a report, a price list.
-
Check the settings
Choose how to lay the tables out. All in one sheet is what you want for a statement whose table runs over several pages: the repeated header is dropped and the rows join up.
-
Save the result
Press Convert to Excel and open the .xlsx in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice or Google Sheets.
Why it doesn’t upload
The PDFs people convert to Excel are bank statements, payslips, invoices and portfolio reports — a full record of what someone earns and spends. Reading them in your browser means that record is never copied anywhere.
Check it in your browser’s Network tabWorth knowing
- Columns are found from where the text sits, because a PDF stores positions rather than a table. Ruled or clearly spaced tables come out best; tables with merged cells or columns that run into each other need a check.
- A scanned PDF has no text to read, only a picture of one. OCR, which adds a text layer, is coming in the next wave of tools.
- Formulas can’t be recovered — a PDF only has the results — so totals come across as the numbers they were.
- Words split across pages keep their own rows; nothing is invented to fill a gap.
Under the hood
What happens to your file
A PDF does not know it contains a table. One is found the way a reader sees it: consecutive lines split by wide gaps that line up from row to row, which give the column boundaries. Wrapped cells are joined back to their row, repeated page headers are dropped, and numbers are written as numbers so the sheet can add them up.

Questions
How do I convert a PDF to Excel without losing the columns?
Drop it here and keep the default layout. Columns are worked out from the gaps between the text, then each cell is written to its own spreadsheet cell.
Can I convert a bank statement PDF to Excel?
Yes, and it’s what All in one sheet is for: every page’s rows are stacked into one table and the header repeated on each page is dropped once.
Will the numbers still add up?
Yes. Amounts become real numbers with their formatting kept — currency, thousands separators, decimals, brackets for negatives — so SUM works. Long codes and account numbers stay as text so they keep their leading zeros.
Why did my scanned PDF come out empty?
A scan is a picture of a table, with no text behind it. Nothing can read columns out of it until it has a text layer, which is what OCR adds — that tool is in the next wave.
How do I go the other way, Excel to PDF?
Use Excel to PDF, which prints each sheet with its formats and colors.
