How to flip a PDF horizontally

  1. Add your PDFs

    Drop the PDF.

  2. Check the settings

    Choose horizontal (a mirror image), vertical, or both.

  3. Save the result

    Save. The pages are mirrored in the file itself, so they print that way everywhere.

Why it doesn’t upload

A mirrored PDF is usually a design heading for print — your artwork. It’s flipped in your browser, not on someone else’s server.

Worth knowing

  • Mirrored text reads backwards, as it should for transfers — and it’s still real text underneath.
  • Links move with the content, so they stay over the right words.
  • Flipping both ways is the same as turning the page 180°; Rotate does that without mirroring.

What happens to your file

Flipping mirrors each page with a transformation matrix, the same mechanism a PDF uses to place anything on a page. Text stays text and link areas are mirrored with the content, so a mirrored page still clicks where it shows.

Questions

How do I mirror a PDF for an iron-on transfer?

Choose Horizontally and press Flip PDF, then print the result on transfer paper. The design comes out the right way round on the fabric.

What’s the difference between flipping and rotating?

Rotating turns the page; flipping mirrors it. A horizontally flipped page reads right to left, like in a mirror.

Can I flip only some pages?

Under Advanced, flip only the odd or even pages — handy for double-sided printing tricks.

How do I fix a PDF that is upside down?

Turn it 180° with Rotate PDF rather than flipping it. A vertical flip mirrors the page top to bottom, so upside-down text would come out the right way up but reading backwards; rotating keeps it readable.

Is the flip saved in the file?

Yes. The rotate button in a PDF viewer usually changes only how the page is shown to you; here the mirrored pages are written into a new PDF, so it opens and prints flipped on any device.
